Gardener - Laverstock Care Centre, Salisbury - £11.44 per hour

  • 80 Bedded Nursing, Dementia and Residential home 
  • Part time; 14hrs per week

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance of the building, equipment, and systems, including plumbing, electrical, heating, and cooling.
  • Conduct repairs and improvements as needed, such as fixing leaks, replacing light fixtures, and painting.
  • Ensure all health and safety regulations are met and maintain compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies to ensure the safety and comfort of residents and staff.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance work carried out and report any major issues to management.
  • Collaborate with external contractors and service providers as required.
  • Maintain an inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment, and order new supplies as needed.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a maintenance operative or similar role.
  • Ability to perform a variety of repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills and a friendly, professional demeanor.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to respond to emergency situations outside of regular working hours.
  • A valid driver's license.
Desirable:
  • Previous experience working in a care home or healthcare environment.
  • Relevant qualifications in maintenance or a related field.
